Pittsburgh International Airport

Pittsburgh, PA

The Challenge

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) accommodates nearly 20 million travelers on an estimated 450,000 flights per year.  The airport sits on 10,000 acres and is served by more than 20 passenger carriers.  With 100 gates and 600 non-stop flights per day, the airport demands constant attention to maintain a clean environment.

The Solution

PIT placed great importance on control systems, so OneSource implemented a barcode and rating percentage system to produce reports indicating cleanliness satisfaction levels.  A second barcode label was added to evaluate each area two times per shift, once during high-traffic hours and immediately following the initial cleaning.  Using the inspection data, OneSource generates a report detailing percentage scores with accompanying explanations and drafts a cover letter identifying the previous month's problems and the solutions needed to remedy them.

The Result

Improved performance, increased accountability and a cleaner facility.
